The AStA is pleased to inform you that you can now borrow a cargo bike from us free of charge! We have teamed up with the “ALLrad – Allmende Lastenrad” initiative to lend out bikes. You can book our “flOtter” cargo bike via their website dasallrad.org. You have to register there once to make a booking.
You can hire the bike for up to 5 consecutive days. The start and end point is always our AStA secretariat in Giessen in C13.2.30. You will receive a briefing when you borrow the equipment and must show your student ID card or identity card on site. Please bring your own helmet!
In principle, the cargo bike is available to all students and non-students. Through ALLrad you can also rent many other cargo bikes, inclusion bikes, handcarts or trailers in the area on a donation basis.
flOtter was largely paid for by the AStA of the THM – i.e. also by your semester fees. The city of Giessen has sponsored the cargo bike with 2,500 euros. Many thanks for that!
We got the Rapid model from Radkutsche for you. Our flOtter has e-assistance with a powerful motor and large battery. With this and the solid 12-speed hub gears, even heavy loads can be easily ridden up Grünberger Straße or Luddi. Two Euroboxes fit next to each other on the loading area (60x80cm), which you can also borrow from us.
We want to play our part in the transport revolution with this rental service. Especially in an urban environment, it makes no sense to travel by car. Even larger loads or even entire removals can be completed more quickly with a cargo bike. Just give it a try!
